Walking Group B
Walking group B as now been meeting for two years. There has been some very lovely walks, all in different terrains, including downs, woodlands and coastal areas, some hilly some not so hilly and at times nearly been blown away.

The walks are normally five miles, but sometimes they have been four on rare occasions.

We are always glad to welcome new walkers, and anyone wishing to join please phone me for a programme and I will send one out to you.  The walks are held on second Wednesday of the month.

The picture above was our last walk at Studland, We had fine weather, but not a lot of sun, but was dry which is a bonus. This picture was taken at Agglestone which was quite impressive, and the group don`t look to bad either, unfortunately we were only ten, some eight other walkers could not make it on the day. Come and join us, we are a friendly lot, don`t bite and would welcome new faces.

Autumn 2010 Update: We are now well into the year, and we have had some nice walks, even though some places were overgrown with nettles and grass - not much fun for those in shorts! We did a lovely walk from Studland, walking up to Agglestone, which was very impressive with lovely views of Brownsea Island and Poole Harbour. A picture of us there is on the website. Whilst walking at Garston Wood, we were lucky enough to see a badger. He turned round and gave us a look then wandered up the path in front of us before he went off into the woods. Chris Moorhouse who was with us, was thrilled as this was the first time she had seen a badger in the wild, something she always wanted to see. We also saw four deer on that walk. Such sightings are always an exciting surprise. We had a very low turn out on our last walk, due to holidays and such like, but for the few who came, it was very enjoyable.

I am sorry to say that I shall be leaving the Walking Group due to moving to Poole. Stuart McAinsh is kindly taking over the running of the group and I wish him all the best. It has been great knowing you all and I know I shall miss you. Take care.  (Betty Ward)
