For some time we have been following a video course in the form of a ‘soap’, giving plentiful re-use of gradually expanding vocabulary, and set in different parts of the Spanish speaking world.
The spoken language is well supported by written summaries. Other materials are available as needed.
This is a co-operative learning group as I am learning myself on the basis of very little prior knowledge. I have been encouraged by the progress I have made!!
All levels are welcome especially if you have a large hacienda or bodega with a stock of Rioja.
Help from a really fluent Spanish speaker would be a great help.
March 2010 Update: I fear we have to say we no longer have an active Spanish group. Again there is scope for the terrified or monolingual to go at their own pace without feeling inhibited by longer-standing owners of castles in Spain (a French expression which means roughly that they have pipe-dreams) We have again a Spanish pharmacist who is happy (work load permitting) to be practiced on when one gathers medicamentos. His English puts my Spanish to shame !
