The group was reinstated in October 2010 and currently has 8 members. New members with some knowledge of Italian would be welcome.

 

We are aiming at improving our conversation skills and, to this end, we would benefit from the input of a fluent Italian speaker.

 

Our studies are based around the BBC Italian Talk 2 course, which includes a textbook and two CD’s. This introduces practical speech and also focuses on some grammar work. In addition our meetings incorporate some reading and translation to improve our knowledge of Italian phraseology. The texts are taken from a various of sources, including Italian magazines and newspapers and some simpler conversations from various textbooks.

 

We also play some games, such as bingo, to help consolidate our knowledge of numbers and others which prompt conversation.
