Discussion
This fairly new group, twelve strong, initiated by Pat Ashworth, now chaired by me (at Pat’s suggestion) is very successful with almost full attendance at each meeting! A list of topics has included: Modern Art; Halloween and Things That Go Bump in the Night; Ageism; Momentous Moments; The European Community.
We cover Current Affairs for half an hour at the beginning of each session.
Limited by the optimum number of people to take part in a discussion group as well as members living rooms two new discussion groups have been formed to cater for demand.
Meets once a month on the third Wednesday of the month from 2:30 to 4pm.

Autumn 2010 Update: The Discussion Group is alive and well! Twelve members in the beginning and still twelve going strong! Recent discussions include: Modern Architecture; The Pleasure of Books; Things I Would Like To Do Before I Die; Bureaucracy and the Nanny State; What Laws We Would Like To Pass. Topics are suggested by members and we always have lively points of view – I personally have learned a lot from fellow members. It’s a real “thought stretching” group. “It’s good to talk”! No vacancies at the moment.
